_ _ _ Stupid rocket host
I'm ever so glad that mum's getting me a domain for christmas. Free hosts suck. They promise no advertising and then they shut down without a word, taking all your stuff with them, or they all of a sudden stick big ugly words all over your site. Bastards.
_ _ _ Mmmm clothing...
Mum and I went on a fantastic shopping adventure for a colour printer and some job interview clothing. I bought a brown/gold fine linen skirt which goes nicely with my beige suit jacket. Mum is very sneaky. I was forced to try on lots and lots of clothing so that she could work out the patterns, and make them up at home for a tenth of the price. Now she’s making me a gorgeous dark blue silk (shot with gold) collared shirt, and a pretty white skirt with little blue and green embroidered polka dots. I love having a mother who loves to sew.
We also purchased some shoes – the new black Diana Ferrari “Lust” heels. My god, they are unbelievably sexy. I carry them around and stroke them adoringly; such is their power over me. Black leather, stiletto 3-4 inch heel – so I can’t walk, but I’ll look good.
We bought a Canon i865 colour printer, and it is amazing! Fantastic quality and it prints on CDs! Directly on to them! In perfect colour! It’s ever so exciting. Cheap Christmas presents here I come!
_ _ _ oh dear...
The construction crew working outside my window is getting closer and closer... and definitely too close for comfort. Clank, bang, rattle-rattle, squeak, very loud, all day. Not fun. The noise is always worst in the morning (from 6.30 onwards) when you haven’t heard it for around 14 hours. After about 10 you just start to forget it’s happening.
This can lead to embarrassment. I have to remember that there is a construction crew of about 20 outside my window, especially after I shower, and when I’m changing. More than once have I remembered too late, looked up into the smirking face of some random bulldozer-operator, and had to clutch my towel desperately to myself and sprint to pull the curtains across.
Today will be spent rounding up my referees, fixing up my resume and making enquiry calls. Here we come secretary/receptionist/retail job! Hooray! (/end sarcasm) Well, not really. I am happy to get a job – although I’d prefer something slightly more exciting/interesting/rewarding/beneficial to society, but whatcha gonna do? These are the generic positions I’m qualified for, and they’re better than McDonalds!
_ _ _ school of rock
Just got back from dinner and a movie with Dad. We went to see "School of Rock", which was very cute. I was blown away by the kids in it - talk about your talent. Ten year olds who can play better than any adults I've ever seen! And here I am; without rhythm, without music. Sigh.
I've been an official ex-high school student for 2 days now... and it really hasn't sunk in yet. Mel called this morning from Schoolies to let me know what everyone is up to and to ensure that I'm staying cool.
She told me detailed stories of Cara being unable to microwave her own pizza pockets due to drunkeness. I told her that I was going to my Grandmother's birthday party today... I am so uncool.
Grandma's party was fun, by the way.
_ _ _ new thing
I've finally gotten around to dumping all my stuff onto one server in an attempt to get something like a website, rather than just a blog, going. This will no longer be my main page... so go to http://www.diantha.hostrocket.com and things will probably make more sense.
